The Hudson Valley summer is officially here. From the peaks of the Catskills to the shores of the Hudson River, your Acura is the ultimate vessel for discovery. Whether you're towing a new boat or packing up the family camper, our local landscape offers world-class escapes just minutes from Wappingers Falls.
Launching a boat on the Hudson River requires more than just a hitch-it requires precision. Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) is a game-changer on the steep, often slippery ramps found in Dutchess County.
Located right in the heart of Poughkeepsie, this public launch offers direct access to the scenic Mid-Hudson Bridge views. The SH-AWD® system ensures that power is sent to the wheels with the most grip, making pulling your boat out of the water effortless.
Part of Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park, this launch is perfect for exploring the quiet coves of the Hudson. The MDX's 5,000-lb towing capacity handles larger runabouts with ease, while the park offers plenty of room for trailer maneuvering.
Ready to go further? Your Acura is built for the long haul. With 3,500 lbs of FWD capacity or 5,000 lbs with SH-AWD®, these destinations are within easy reach from Route 9.
The most popular state campground in the Catskill Forest Preserve. The 2026 MDX is the perfect size for navigating winding mountain roads while towing a teardrop or pop-up camper into your private wooded site.
The "Queen of American Lakes" is an easy haul up the Northway. Utilize the MDX's Integrated Dynamics System to maintain stability while hauling your jet skis or fishing boat to the Adirondacks.
Ready to hitch up? Check out our 2026 Acura MDX Towing Capacity Guide for exact hauling specs, or schedule an appointment with our Service Center to have your factory-certified hitch installed.
Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie offers a public boat launch with direct Hudson River access and Mid-Hudson Bridge views. For a quieter experience, Norrie Point at Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park in Staatsburg is an excellent alternative.
North-South Lake Campground is the most popular choice for families in the Catskills, offering wooded sites that accommodate smaller trailers and pop-up campers up to 30 feet.
When properly equipped with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) and the genuine Acura accessory trailer hitch, the 2026 Acura MDX can safely tow up to 5,000 pounds. This is ideal for pulling small boats, jet skis, or lightweight campers.
